The College of Education was founded in 1993 and its original location was within the building of the College of Science. During the 2003-2004 academic year, the College relocated to the site of the previous College of Medicine, which was located within the main campus building.

A study at the College of Education for Pure Sciences - University of Babylon, titled "Proper Uses of Nuclear Energy". The research includes an introduction to the scientific definition of energy, the definition of nuclear energy and its production methods, and the history of its discovery. It also discusses the development of nuclear energy research, the emergence of nuclear weapons, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy. The study covers the concept of the peaceful use of nuclear energy, the importance of X-ray imaging, the definition of nuclear energy use, and the relationship between peaceful nuclear energy use and proper nuclear explosions. Additionally, it explores the fields of peaceful nuclear energy use and its evaluation.
