The College of Education was founded in 1993 and its original location was within the building of the College of Science. During the 2003-2004 academic year, the College relocated to the site of the previous College of Medicine, which was located within the main campus building.

The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Babylon, Professor Dr. Bahaa Hussein Saleh Rabea, welcomed Iraqi Parliament member Yasser Hashem Abbas Al-Husseini, along with a gathering of faculty members from the college. The meeting delved into an overview of the educational process and other topics aimed at overcoming obstacles that hinder the educational journey in general. Discussions also revolved around advancing higher education and addressing lingering challenges within the college's path, seeking fitting solutions.In turn, Al-Husseini commended the significant progress witnessed by the college, expressing hopes for further contributions and prosperity for the faculty and students.
