The College of Education was founded in 1993 and its original location was within the building of the College of Science. During the 2003-2004 academic year, the College relocated to the site of the previous College of Medicine, which was located within the main campus building.

Professor Dr. Qahtan Hadi Al-Jubouri, the President of the University of Babylon, stated that the University of Babylon achieved the fifth position locally and the 2663rd position globally. In the previous release in July 2022, the University of Babylon was ranked 2783 globally and maintained its fifth position locally.. It's worth mentioning that this ranking relies on university data collected from neutral sources and international repositories.
